GM The One Ring

Wed 30 Jul 2025, 10:09

Hi guys,

Hope this topic is not repeated. I am a GM of a TOR game. 2 years long. My players are travelling through lands and content of 1ed (Mirkwood and around) searching who they are. I am preparing an epic meeting session of themselves with their characters in the future (they do not know how they are mainly physical and memory loss of their backstory). It's my meta-lore will. I know, I am evil.

Anyway, my question to be here is that I am searching for recommendations (books, mainly, I like books) with pre-set/built dungeons that fit with this world. I have all the book FL published (1ed included) but all of them have adventures I need to have available for the future. What I need is sources with pre-built dungeons to easy prepare always I have to prepare a near session and adapt quickly. I have some D&D books but all dungeons contained there I feel they are designed for adventures more advanced, etc.

Also, my players are obsessed with puzzles, riddles and more. I bought THE GAME MASTER BOOK OF TRAPS, PUZZLE AND DUNGEONS, but again I feel is not quite what I am searching. I would say that is more than the K-programs like Busted! or Mystery Agents, in which the players are enrolled in an adventure alone, searching clues and those clues drive to places, people, tests in rooms, etc... It's all mixed.

Could you please give me ideas with this?

Hi Narrador Maestro, Welcome my dear friend, I don't know if you're looking for "story" inspiration or "map" inspiration... anyway, the two online links I'm giving you should help you move faster...

Personally, with just a map, I can come up with several interesting ideas very quickly.

You have the list of all the adventures here
https://5e.tools/adventures.html

P.S. I have some personal stuff here that can help you too.

If it can be useful to you, great.

Thank you so much, dear Arthur, sharing these works. I was looking for something more described like adventures books etc… even so your sharing is very apreciated. :)

That's nice, Narrador. My name is Arthur, or Wizard Rhosgobel (not Thomas), by the way. Take the time to look at the link (5e.tools/adventures.html). You'll find many adventures already prepared (for the D&D 5th edition universe, I think; it's easy to transfer everything to THE ONE RING later). Take the time to read the link; there are many settings already prepared there.

Enjoy your games,
Arthur, aka Wizard Rhosgobel

Hi Arthur,

Sorry, it was a typo. I have some of these books and now adapting one of them. That’s why ask for adventures that could be more easy to set to my meta-lore.

Anyway I’ll take the time to have a look on them.

Thanks!

No problem brother. There's a TOR 1st Edition RPG book about Mirkwood called "The Darkening of Mirkwood." If you can find it, it'll give you some ideas about Mirkwood. It's not exactly the same rules as TOR 1st Edition, but there are still similarities. TOR 2nd Edition hasn't touched Mirkwood yet because it's outside the established territory of 2nd Edition.

I wish you a good campaign.

Hi Arthur, my mellon,

I have all 1ed books. All under control and scheduled chronology for the future based on them. That’s why I asked here for implement more thing in the middle for my meta-lore. I got some DnD books to be adapted but I qas wondering if there would be other best fitted adventures for this world. As I see, all the best is what you mentioned. I did not read most of these DnD books so I have work ahead.

Thanks
