New Starters Packs and now…??

Sat 02 Aug 2025, 03:47

Hi, gentle people of the far away lands,

First of all, thanks to FL team and also you all forum people who are holding this wonderful rpg for us, TLOTR lovers. Thank you for keeping this light on too.

I, as LM of this TOR2ed game, am fully focused on creating new lore and adventures for my players. I have all the books published, 1st & 2nd ed. But hoping to get new you ones. Once released new Starters Sets, do we know what’s next? I love the work done with Moria. I’d love to get several adventures on all lands published including the ones of the 1st. It would be great to receive several books based in this content. I feel we as LM need a lot of sources books like DND has. A lot of adventures in different locations, etc.

Even so, let me know your thoughts: any clue aboyt what’s next? Something as big as Moria would be epic. Erebor snd Smaug, problems in Mirkwood… things really interesting!

Well, if the next expansion is covering a new region (as opposed to updating a region from the first edition) then I think it's time for Gondor. That would probably require a pair of books (if not more); Gondor is a large region. I would propose:
  • Minas Tirith sourcebook and adventures.
  • A region guide to Gondor, descriptions of the various regions and landmarks.
  • A Gondor campaign book.

* There's an adventure book in the works.
* A Rohan is also being worked on.

Mostly likely, those are the next releases. It was said that something would be announced at GenCon, but they've done the announcements and nothing new mentioned. There is a possibility that something will be said today or tomorrow, but it's looking unlikely. So it should be announced in the next few weeks.

After that, probably Gondor. How they tackle Gondor would change what happens next.

Okay, if Rohan is indeed coming up then this will be the first time since "People of Wilderland" that the second edition has revisited the regions east of the Misty Mountains that were previously covered by Cubicle 7.

Napitello did say in his speech in Ropecon, that he think that it is important that characters start from the areas that are close to each others. So if there will be Rohan, it means that other areas nearby are also coming. He also mention that they are speeding release timetables. So expect a lot of things in short time span!

Hi guys!

Thanks for your wonderful thoughts about this exciting future. Gondor would be great. What do you think about areas really epic like Numenor or Rhun, even out of time and sight of the beloved Sir Tolkien masterpiece? I am mesning about going ahead areas and time less usual. I know for developers is more logic working on stuff not developed yet, but could give to some of us LM who are creating messy lore mixed with jump beteween areas-time. It would be crazy and funny!
