Where is Novgorod Station?

Thu 08 May 2025, 03:20

I'm confused as to its location. The book makes it sound like it's in the Tartarus Sector, and I can't find any reference to the star Alpha Fornacis. I was wondering if it was close to the Tartarus colony?

I believe it's meant to go anywhere your campaign needs it to be, and Alpha Fornacis is a system wherever you need it to be.

If that's the case, it's as close as I need it to be. Thanks.

On the big map, Alpha Fornacis is located in the bottom left quadrant: 3 squares down and 2 left from the Anchorpoint Station square (i.e., out in the black zone)

It's odd none of my RPG maps show it. I can see the star marker, its just not named. You'd think it would be there if that's where a station that takes a few pages of the book resides.

Yeah, it's a little odd. I think it is the big Maps & Markers poster map version that has the system noted, but I'm away from my books right now

It's also apparently a real star system. I think they just left it off the big map by mistake back in the day, maybe?

Who knows? I guess some of the systems were placed later in the process, maybe.

And most of the stars/systems in Alien are actually stars/systems 8-)

The inside cover maps in the original Core rulebook are only sparsely labeled.

The map in the Maps and Markers pack has many more systems labeled.

Alpha Fornacis is located at -8, -9 on the map of the Middle Heavens.

It's simple ... it's the system next to ROSS-627 in the DYAUS SECTOR (the nearest planet to the right) ...

it's more (trailward) -9.5, (rimward) -9 ...
