The Night Sow

Thu 09 Mar 2023, 14:43

Hi!
I am running a campaign and this saturday my group of brave society members will head to the south of Sweden. It´s time for the night sow. Who will survive and what will be left of them? :-)
If you have run this scenario and have created npc:s I would be so thankful if I could get hold of these characters. Would you like to help me out?

Love!

Hi,

I hope your game went well. I am currently running the nights sow, I think my players will finish it the next time.

I used the NPC's in the book and made some up, like store owners in the village and there relations to each other to make it more lively in case they want to shop or interact.

I will be playing this on the weekend. I don't think there is any need to make up new NPCs, but you could use the general human encounters from the Core Rule Book. How did you got running this adventure? I'm trying to tie it into a mini-campaign. One review said that this mystery needed more playtesting because there are holes in the core of the mystery. For example, how are the players supposed to figure out to destroy the linden staff? Also, killing Olga straight away before the characters feel any connection with her is a murder-writing no-no. Any thoughts on how to improve this mystery as written?

The fact that Olga was a former Society member, though estranged for many years was enough to attract the PCs. I also set it in midwinter to reinforce the presence of the light house. As the PCs discovered the body, they were quickly suspect in the killing, lead in part by Magnus, which lead to a confrontation. My finale had Josefin pick up the staff and almost succumb to its power.
