When will we get the next book for RoS?

Wed 22 Jan 2025, 14:04

Hello!
Pretty much what the tittle asks. Is there a timeline for the next RoS book?
I guess I can add a little heft to this question with a conversational topic:
I know a lot of folks might be pretty worried, concerned, or anticipating Free League doing something about integrating the new version of D&D into the newer products of RoS. I myself don't have feelings about it one way or another, but I could suggest a new book that translates all the newer adaptations under one cover and maybe add a few new playable classes or species to the list. Just spitballing there. But what do you all think the chances are of it happening?

If I were to make a guess, I would say not for the near future. RoS is an adaptation based on D20 5e, and self contained, so no real need for an official update. Future sourcebook / Lore could take advantage of the new rules, offer some options on how to adapt with the new set of rules, but a reedition of the Core RoS with rules updated? Possible, maybe, never say never... but better start homebrewing to adapt the new rules. I am more eager for the update version foundry Core RoS module to meet 4.0.0 standards... one of these day...
