"My adventurers have played several adventures during 2946-2950 (first edition). I'm starting a new campaign set in 2965 so 15 years later.
They have experienced various adventures during those 15 years but it was rather calm... How many skills and adventure points would you recommend I grant them for this time ?"

Personally, I'd go with none, because really the points are a game-side consideration rather than a narrative-side one. An Elf that is 300 years old doesn't get any more points than the fresh faced just-gained-majority new kid on the block.

However, if you really want to give free points, I'd just work it. Judge what the average number of sessions it takes your party to completed an Adventure Phase. Multiply that by average session length in hours, and that's how many points they'd get per adventure. Then decide how many adventures they'd be doing per year in this quiet period, multiply that by number of points per adventure, then multiply by 15.

It's worth noting that there is generally a ten year limit for characters, and narratively that makes sense. Old or even middle-aged adventures don't move like they used to...and don't last that long. If you have any Men in the company, that might be a narrative issue, because they'll have been going for 25 years or more...which doesn't quite fit. It's up to you though.

Agreed.
Elves & Dwarves should be OK across a 15 year idle time, perhaps Hobbits too, but Men would have settled into middle age. Those players should be playing the Heirs of their older characters, IMHO.

Thanks for both replies
My group is made of 2 dwarves, 1 hobbit, 2 Dunedains and the heir of a women from Esgaroth, so the 15 year's gap is fine.

You could just bump them up with an extra 5-10 starting experience, as if they were heirs?
