Re: Explain healing like I'm five, please.

It's a perfect explanation...

And... If you have some "magical successes" (for example: an elf) you can spend one to improve the healing.

In a example: instead of one use of the healer's kit or risking a bad roll, even with the advantage of the herbalism kit; you can spend a magical success which means a direct 20 on a die roll.
So, if you have proficiency +2, medicine +3 (for +5); you spend a magical success (+20) - 10 ... That would be 15 points healed.

That only happens with certain cultures. In fact, I think the only one who can do that are Elves. But you can imagine the high support that can provide an Elven Scholar.

Thanks all for the feedback and answers! I believe it is clear for me know.
I also guess you don't expend a charge of the kit if you just go with the dice roll?

Yes. Just like when you attempt to stabilize a dying creature, you either go with the roll, or you expend a use of the healer's kit to avoid rolling entirely and use a 10 in place of the d20 roll.
It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till.
