Wounded clarification

Wed 10 Apr 2024, 21:15

Apologies if this has already been addressed.
On p.101, under Dying Heroes, it specifies that “if wounded, heroes must add 10 days to the time required for their injury to mend” . I’m not clear as to whether this refers to the Severe Injury section on the Wound Severity table where the number of days to recover from a single wound reflects the Feat dice roll (1-10) or whether it’s saying that a 2nd wound adds an automatic 10 days to the amount rolled for the 1st wound.
From the way it’s worded, it seems to be the latter, but the sentence quoted above merely says “if wounded” as opposed to “if wounded a 2nd time”.
Thanks in advance.

If you were already Wounded, then you've already rolled on the table and gotten a result (say, 6 days). When you're Wounded again, you're dying and have to be saved. When you are saved, rather than rolling in the severity table again, you automatically add 10 (for a total of 16 days in our example).

I believe the "if Wounded" is because you can be dying without being Wounded - for example, if you suffocate. The recovery time doesn't get triggered in those cases. So a more explicit way of putting it might be "If you were dying due to a Wound, add 10 days" (you can't mention it being on account of being Wounded twice because if you roll an eye on the Wound Severity Table, you can be dying from one Wound, but you still need to trigger the 10 days).
