Rules for PTSD?

Sat 09 Mar 2024, 18:55

I'm at work currently, so I can't look it up, but if I remember correctly, there are no real rules for PTSD in the game, right?

I'm wondering because I might play this soon with some teenagers, and they tend to be murderhobos, and I would like to have some sort of PTSD function to stress them out about if they start shooting innocent people and the like.

Especially since the world is pretty lawless already, and there's not much in the way of law and order that can come after them.

Sure, I could send "good guys" after them and so on, but I really want to have them suffer some psychological ill effects from being wanton murderers.

Well, they will accumulate stress, and a roll on table on p. 77 when they are incapacitated by stress. The table of stressful situations has an entry for "witnessing a massacre" for three stress points, and I'd include a massacre by your own party in that. And Killing Blow on p. 73 has an Empathy roll vs executing someone defenceless. If you keep up with the Stress rolls (and I tend to forget them myself i the heat of battle...) they will rather quickly end up with some long-term effects, at least.
