It's all good, keep in mind I'm not adding my input for you specifically. I put it in there in case other members find it useful. There are animals on your list that I wouldn't use. Mammoths for example. Would I use those? Maybe, I dunno if that fits the stories I want to tell. Giant Hyenas? Not for me, no way! But to each his own.

The journey events table has many options that can be used to create atmosphere. For the case of large cats, I think the players would never actually see one. They are shy creatures and I suspect even Aragorn has only seen one once, but he has probably come across signs of their presence. The players might see tracks or hear one growl in the distance. They might come across a half-eaten kill in a thicket; a dangerous thing because it could mean there is a large cat nearby and they will need to make camp somewhere else. Stuff like that.

I went through a stack of AiMe products and made a list of the monsters found therein.

(1) I still have not determined if conversion to LotRR is needed.

(2) You still have to buy the products, but I thought a list would be nice.

I was trying to attach my list, but am apparently struggling with it.

On a side note, what animals should be found in Middle-earth? Just using the DnD 5E SRD (giant versions of any beast might be found in the same region where the normal creature might dwell. The same can be applied to swarms of creatures):

(snip)
I would love to see this. For a first adventure my group wanted to be Hobbits on a walk-about as an intro session. I figured it would be fun to have them disturb a brown bear in the pursuit of honey, and assumed common animals would be found in well, ANY of the many TOR2e books I now have. Nope. Nothing. I winged it on the fly, just making it up as I went but not very satisfying. If you want to start a collaboration, please so do!

It's pretty easy with the 5E conversion, WOTC provides free online resources. The greater challenge is converting to the TOR rules, although TOR generally avoids giving common animals statblocks. The best we got in that regard were the horse descriptions in TOR 1E's Horse-lords of Rohan.
