As indicated in the title, I'm looking for further reading recommendation tied to the Alien Franchise, without going out to buy the whole lot either.

So far I have:
- The Complete Alien Collection: The Shadow Archive (Out of the Shadows, Sea of Sorrows, River of Pain)
- Alien: The Cold Forge
- Alien: Into Charybdis
- Alien: Colony War
- Alien: Inferno's Fall
- Alien: Enemy of My Enemy

The first one seems like a good trilogy to have. The next two is a great pair of books (and good background for the 4th one) and the last 3 are the novels with the Alien: RPG cinematic scenarios. (I'm aware of the Map flaws for Colony War, but that seems like an Easy enough fix).

I realize that we all have different taste but what would be your recommendations ? Whether it's your top 3, your Nice-to-Have, your universe/background "Must-have", etc.

The River of Pain is ideal for 'flavour' for Hadley's Hope if you were gonna run that scenario, good background as to what was happening whilst the characters are outside in the Atmos Processor & broken down crawler I suppose. But it's an Aliens Directors Cut re-hash. You probably want to read the movie adaptations as well!

The past few months I've been on a kick to collect up all of the rest of the books and comics that I didn't have.

What got me going was trying to sort out the tangled thread of Zula Hendricks, Amanda Ripley, and Davis One appearances.

But, of course, just that wasn't going to be enough... my brain said "why not get them all and see what could be mined from everything to be RPG scenarios and encounters"

And recently, I started sorting them into "the *canon* storyline" based on Andrew Gaska's list of what was various grades of canon and what wasn't.

I posted my draft of "the canon timeline with stories in order" elsewhere in the forum.

The plan is, of course, to start at the 2023 TED talk and watch/read everything in order from start to finish to get the entire thing as a massive story arc.

I agree, I'm likely going to end up with all of them at some point... And likely the AVP stuff too... But for now I'm trying to be reasonable.

But once I hit that rabbit hole, the comic books will follow for sure.

Hey. You have a good list of books there. What I would personaly add to your list is: Aliens: Phalanx, Aliens: Bug Hunt, Aliens: Dust to Dust and Aliens: Death Orbit.
