Basilisk

Tue 18 Jul 2023, 04:54

Hey All,

Check out my attempt at a balisik and let me know what you think. I tried to stay within the rule as presented with the Dragonbane CRB...

Basilisk

Ferocity: 2 Size: Medium
Movement: 16 Armor: 0 HP: 44

1 Basilisk Bite! The basilisk bites a player character with its fang filled maw, inflicting 3D8 piercing damage.
2 Sweeping Attack! The basalisk whips its tail at two player characters. Both victims suffer 2D6 bludgeoning damage and are knocked down.
3 Crushing Charge! The beast charges at the player character with the highest STR within 10 meters. The victim suffers 3D6 bludgeoning damage and is knocked down!
4 Six Legged Trample! With reckless abandon, the beast charges at the closest character within 10 meters, then continues to the next nearest target after that, trampling both in its path. Each victim suffers 2D6 bludgeoning damage and are knocked prone.
5 Petrifying Gaze: Potency 15 Full Effect: You become Exhausted and must make
a CON roll each turn (not an action). If it fails, you can neither move nor perform actions (not even free actions) that round. The effect wears off after one stretch or if you are given an antidote. Limited Effect: You become Exhausted.
6 Shake and Toss! The beast grabs a player character with its terrible maw, shaking it violently, tearing fleshing and bone.. The attack inflicts 2D6 piercing damage. The victim is thrown an equal number of meters and lands prone.

Other Thoughts...
Other thoughts I had were to include a "paralzying bite" as another action, similar to the Gaze attack, but at a lower Potency with lower damage.

Don’t you like the Basilisk from the adventure book? Or why create a new one?
