Hey all, I feel I should introduce myself. 50 years old, moderate RPG XP but when I was a kid I played like 30 different RPG systems and its been a LONG time since I GM'd. I hit LA's StratCon 3 times a year, mostly as a boardgamer, but this last one (like, last weekend) I dipped into the pool of the RPG community there. Fucking great peeps there, thriving community.
You know what I think they need? Yeah you guessed it, they need some Alien. Alien (cinematic) is so perfect for Cons!!!! I am a total Alien-head, love all the films, I even follow the comics. I got LORE covered. Over the last few days I have been deep-diving into the rules system. I think it's pretty dope, light on its feet, definitely fits my GM style. I've always been a 'cinematic-oriented' GM.
I'm only interested (currently) in running Cinematic. And I'd like to keep it down to 3 hours per session. I have between now and Labor Day to prepare.
Question is: Am I being too ambitious? Is it possible to run a full Cinematic in 3 hours? Considering that I would probably need to teach the game rules as well?
I'd be very interested in any input from experienced ALIEN GM's
