Dragonbane BETA v3 Adventure Book Feedback - Chapter 2 Opening Scene

Fri 17 Feb 2023, 17:13

Hi!

Please use this thread to post feedback and report any typos or errors in Chapter 2 of the new Beta PDF (dated Feb 17) of the Adventure Book for Dragonbane. Guidelines to remember:
  • Before reporting an error, please check and see if it already has been reported, and if so, don't report it again.
  • If you feedbacked on something in a previous Beta but it's not changed in the new Beta, it's not because we missed it - it's because we made a different assessment. (Typos are a different thing.)
Please report your feedback no later than February 28.
Thank you!

Page 11 - I had to go back and check the size of the statuette. Page 8: "The statuette of Emperor Eledain is roughly half a meter tall" (or about a foot and a half tall). "Each piece counts as a quarter of an item" On page 11 the goblins attack Weatherman: "have orders from the chieftain Maladûk to keep an eye out for a precious relic split into four smaller pieces. They have been told that this relic is
sought by many, both living and undead, and so the heavy bundle Weatherman was hauling around caught their attention." Hmmm - unless Weatherman has something else in that heavy bundle - each piece of the statuette is relatively tiny. Do we need to add something to the description of the statuette to indicate that it is tremendously heavy for its small size? We learn later (page 13) that it is made of Basalt. It would be good to mention this in the inset description of the statuette. Basalt is a heavy rock - but each individual piece would not constitute a 'heavy bundle'. Maybe they glimpsed his mark and decided to kill him??

Page 11 - "When the adventure begins, the player characters have been traveling for days through the high and rugged Kummer Mountains, trying to find a way down to the Misty Vale." the description of how the players are trying to get to the vale doesn't match with ox-drawn carts getting there. The session text is good though.

Page 12 - "worgriding" = worg riding

Page 13 ~ “They all bear the black mark of Maladûk on their right shoulder”. It would be helpful to include what that mark is ie as covered on page 8.
