Nocturnal

Fri 29 Apr 2022, 07:13

Hi GMs,

I wanted to check to see how others have interpreted the Kin talent Nocturnal. It does state that goblins are not affected buy darkness at all in the errata, but does this include the pitch dark of the lower levels of a mine or is it more like darkness of night above ground?

Just wanted to see how you have all played this one. Myself I have expressed it as working in the dark of night but not in absolute darkness. Might have to revise that before it actually comes into play.

Best Regards,
Richard

I treat it as they are not affected by darkness at all of any type. Simple nice advantage they get when all the lights are out.

The rules for Darkness (page 112) refers to situations “When you are in complete darkness and lack night vision”, as opposed to dimly lit or moonless night.
I assume “night vision” to be the Nocturnal Talent.
So, I intrepid this as Goblins ignore all the restrictions/limitations in Darkness situations, including deep down inside mines/dungeons.
