Home rules and tweaks

Tue 12 Apr 2022, 21:48

We’re not fans of tweaks and home rules. However, T2K is such a fantastic game that we can´t help ourselves to tweak it slightly as to play it without hindrance. What home rules do YOU actually use, if any?

We have these slight modifications:
* You have to declare what you will do with hits on your ammunition dice before you roll.
* Some additional rules concerning bows, e.g. indirect fire.
* First aid gives temporary damage capacity. Temporary damage capacity only soaks up damage points on a 6’.
* First aid takes a lot longer than one action.
* Some situations, like when a PC tries something completely new for the first time makes the first roll ‘pushed’. Only one roll and ‘1’ counts.
* Our characters start with one less in attributes but have three specialties.
* Furthermore, the game starts in 1997 with the Soviet invasion of Sweden. (We have some more 'down to Earth-rules' when creating a character).

Please let me know.

Two pretty simple rule changes for my group.

1) Allow someone on a mounted HMG to use their strength OR agility along with the heavy weapons skill.

2) We changed initiative drawing since we play over discord. Roll your strength and agility dice and then add the number you get together. A lot more fun than myself just drawing cards and telling them what I drew. Players always like rolling dice anyways!

Not a change of rules but in looks(where we may have to use some extra rules...);
After looking at the Netflix movie "Black crab" ,wich plays in a postapocaliptic Sweden,we wanted a winterland set of battlemaps.
So I gave all the included maps in the game a winter look(wich we can,of course,also use in a Poland storyline).

My only real change is adapting the play surface for minis. We have a lot of Team Yankee stuff, so we simply use 1:100 scale and extrapolate explosions and suppression based on 5 cm/2" from the target. The 15mm dudes from TY are based on pennies (~20mm) for practical use. Where else are you going to get bases for a penny a piece? ;)
