Religion in the bitter reach

Thu 17 Feb 2022, 12:16

In the bitter reach, the inhabitans seems to be more atheistic than in the forbidden lands. There is a lack of information to the religion of the people. In the campaign, i don´t find a single temple for example. The winterelfes don´t seem to believe in any deities.

As i start planning the campaign, i´m actually not sure if i lower down the hole religion thing and say that the druids are simply another form of spellcasters. Or if i give the orcs, summerelves, dwarfes, halfelfes , wolflings and aillanders as starting characters the same religion as in the forbidden land.

What do you think?

Hey Arnold, the Druids in the Bitter Reach are a religious group. The Elves believe in the same Gods as in the Ravenlands. Shamanistic belief is common among the Orc tribes. And in Nordfall every one brings his Religion take with him. So it is up to the GM if he brings the Kin and there beliefs to live or not.

I just want to point out one bit. The Druids ARE just another form of spell casters. Their disciplines differ enough in practice that they are not "sorcerers" but that has more to do with game mechanic professions then story. There are no gods giving anyone any magic and any caster could believe their magic comes from some outside source. Magic and spell are a fact of the world. Gods and religions are not.
