The tie in between the first two scenarios of Bree could be improved. Especially the second need a better set up.
Mallor could have been the ranger that put Timeas on the right path thirty years ago, thus getting him away from Gorlancs’s gang. This is known to Haleth, who can inform the players.
Perhaps foreshadow Gorlanc and the mystic ring they found, now presumed missing, in Old Bones through Haleth. The evil ring was lost when the rangers drove away the gang.
Haleth could show up again in the end of Old Bones and hint that Mallor usually hangs out around The Forsaken Inn and knows more about Timeas’ murky past. That will give a clearer connection, IMO. Also she could be heading north to investigate rumours about an evil man that everybody thought were dead having returned (Gorlanc), also asking if the players have seen a caravan, as Mallor was looking after one, for some reason.
Also, in Old Bones, perhaps finding an old amulet with Gorlanc’s rune in Timeas’ belongings as well as on Grór.
Other ideas?
PS the hunt and assault on Gorlanc’s stronghold will need to be included as well as the finale, no way the players will accept a solution off screen…
