Does Slave's Shake It Off shake off damage from pushing their dice roll?

Ex: Slave roll to hit with spiked bat. No success and one fail. Pushes roll to get two successes. But now that failed dice causes damage. Slave rolls to shake off damage from pushed roll? If so, do they still get the mutation point?

You can't use the 'Shake it Off' skill against trauma suffered when you push a dice roll.

Thank you sir; as I suspected when I let them talk me out of it during the game (we don't slow down for more than 60 second rule lookups).

I guess some parasitic fungus will have made it's way into the water supply by next session
