When someone uses sic a dog to get his dog to attack an opponent it costs a main action.

Does the owner have to spend his main action every turn if he wants the dog to carry on attacking or does he just have to spend his main action on the first turn and the dog will carry on into further turns attacking without the need to spend an action (unless he changes targets

You only have to spend an action to command it, then the dog tries to do that command until it is finished or he is commanded to stop. The mutant doesn't have to stand there and keep shouting at the dog, he can do other things.
