Updated Rulebook and Errata PDF

Sat 12 Oct 2019, 14:46

Hello!

Crusader Kings - The Board Game has been in the hands of backers and other players for over two months now, and it's been great to see the response – both praise and constructive criticism.

A few minor errors and unclarities did unfortunately make into the printed rulebook, so we have now have now compiled an official errata and an updated complete rules PDF. All the changes are listed in the errata, but the biggest updates are these:

1. If your King has a spouse but no children, he can Adopt a child in the Dynasty Phase at the cost of 2 Gold. This is to offset the risk of a player being stuck without children for a long time.

2. Murdering a current heir to a throne requires two successes (not just one). This is to make it a little harder to create a succession crisis in another player's Dynasty.

3. The AI rules for solo play and two-player mode have been overhauled. AIs now need to Mobilize just like human players. It should still be noted however, that playing with AI is not the primary game mode - player-to-player interaction is key to the game experience.

4. A new chapter on strategies has been added to the rulebook, listing a number of different strategies that you can try to win the game.

Hi Tomas,

Thanks for the errata!

A question regarding adoption: can a player married to Glitterhoof adopt a child?

Any chance there will be a printer friendly version of the updated rulebook available for download?

Nevermind, I found a way to remove the background and then print the document in Adobe Acrobat Reader:

View --> Show/Hide --> Navigation --> Layers: Unclick the "Background" layer

After this, the background appears white!
