Chariot of the Gods, Act II

Wed 26 Jun 2019, 03:51

In Chariot of the Gods, Act II:  The Long Night, under Aggressive Tendencies (Mandatory) on page 139, the last sentence states, "A Scientist can ANALYZE the bodies to learn more about the transformation, but not the cause of it."

Didn't the only Scientist among all the crews die in Act I, under Mother of All Migraines (Mandatory) on page 137?

I suspect this is future-proofing. As in, if the players decide to create a crew rather than play the stock PCs, once the Char Gen rules get to us.

Also, it may be that a PC dies, and the player asks to bring a new PC in (rather than one of the survivors of the Cronus), say, maybe, a passenger in Cryo aboard the Montero, who gets awakened at the T-10 event. (Thus giving the players a reason to not worry about the cargo, and the player with the dead PC a new character.)

Working within the self-contained Cinematic scenario, I was considering giving Ava 6 the Analyze Talent, but then that requires an edit to her name, "Ava 6, Scientist" instead of "Ava 6, Synthetic", to conform to the instructions on page 139, "A Scientist can ANALYZE..."

On a separate, but related, topic:  There's 53 instances of "android" and 16 instances of "synthetic."  Recommend picking one; preferably "android," and replacing all instances of "synthetic."
