Party Size & Makeup

Wed 10 Jan 2018, 23:01

Is it known if the adventures are written with a specific size party in mind? Or can the adventure encounters and difficulty scale with small or large groups?

Is there a "core four" like in other fantasy RPGs? (fighter, thief, cleric, wizard)

I'm a backer, and I have looked over the couple chapters so far in the Alpha release.
I usually GM for a small group and when necessary, the players will play 2 characters, or I will run a GM NPC.
Just curious to see if this will be a change for us, or business as usual.

I think it will work out fine. Some monsters, just as in MYZ, can be tough of course, but I do think balancing "enemies" will not be that hard, regardless of party size. One thing though that I have noticed, the players need to discuss when they create their characters how they will survive out there. someone better be good in the Survival skill and if hunting/foraging is something that they plan to do, someone must take the Cook talent (don't know what they will call it in English) if they want to be able to preserve the food they get. The Pack Mule talent is also good if the group is small (or an actual mule of course). Since everyone start with two free talents and fairly free skill point choices, I do think it will not be that hard to create a small group that can survive out there regardless of classes.
