So I was looking at the Swedish version of the star map (https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/t3 ... 8339_o.jpg) equipped with a bit more knowledge of the setting and noticed something. Taoan, the poor blockaded colony world is not off the beaten path, it's actually a link in that larger oval circuit below Kua. There's a nearby system, Uharu, which I'm presuming is also under a blockade right? In fact there's a sort of highlight around Taoan, Uharu, and Hamura that I'm guessing when it's translated will read something like this region is quarantined.

So this part of the ring is now impassible? Or is it just the planet Taoan that's under quarantine and ships can pass through with military escort if they keep to a restricted path? If it's the entire system I can see how from a background standpoint the Taoan problem isn't going to simply sit in the background waiting for characters to discover it... This will be an issue many will want addressed and resolved asap!

The text reads "Dangerous Area".

Reading from the book I take it that the portals at Hamura and Uharu are heavily garded. But I'm not sure those systems are actually part of the blockade. I think they are marked as dangerous because:
1. Hamura got "Ion storms" and "Pirates". The short text explains that the system was heavily trafficked before the Taoan incident, but now most transports go to the portal station Hamurabi. People in the system then go to the station for trading.
2. Uharu got "Rebels". There are more or less wars being fought on the different planets in the system.

Greg, I think you're jumping the portal ship a little too soon in making such encompassing statements.
I've read bits of the Swedish version (not a lot), and unless things are going to be greatly changed for the English-language version, I don't think the blockade has shut down entire regions of travel.

The Taoan system is closed. The portals leading there are heavily garded. (Also reading from the beta-pdf "Secrets of the horizon" what is mentioned about the reason of Taoan being closed, I don't think anyone will be allowed to pass even with an escort!)

This is not something that will sit in the background, but is one of four "big happenings going on in the third horizon" mentioned in the books!

Yes, the badest factions in the horizon. Definetly no entry!

As Krönikören wrote, the Taoan system is closed and nothing passes thru. Yo can get to the Hamura system and the Uharu system, but all the trade to Dabaran has to go the other way around the curcuit nowadays.
