Heal and Zone Cook - How Long ?

Thu 15 Jan 2015, 14:43

I've just got a quick question on how long it takes for a Heal check and for a Zone Cook to do his or her thing.

The initial Heal check (not the recovery one) - i'm presuming it's not applicable to use during combat, at least a few minutes would seem appropriate ?

Zone Cook could be extremely powerful if it's a quick check, so I'm thinking of tempering it by making it take about 4 hours ?

Does this seem about right, or am I way off ?

Cheers

Hi,

As the rules are written, the initial Heal roll can be made during combat, as one action - that can create some tense (and fun) situations, trying to get a fallen comrade back on his or her feet in the middle of combat. If you prefer it taking a few minutes (perhaps more realistic), you're of course free to houserule it - and it won't break anything else in the game.

Regarding Zone Cook, a few hours sounds right. :)

Thanks for the clarification on Heal during combat Tomas, considering that the person getting healed will still have the critical effects to deal with it doesn't sound like it will make things too easy on them :)
