...What are the many places for the heroes to meet as known places as establishments?...

Beyond the "Prancing Pony"... have there been other listed places (in canon or within the recent manuals). As I have one hero that is a little TOO deep into his adult beverage; and enjoys playing his dwarf (named "Norm") to great cheer as everyone knows his name!

There's the Bridge Inn in Tharbad. It's run by Timothy Titus (an Easter egg for Tolkien nerds). p13, Ruins.

The Forsaken Inn. It's a day east of Bree. Depending on how you take things, it may have been abandoned by the time of The Hobbit...or it may not.

Not to forget the Green Dragon in Michel Delving (see The Shire supplement).

The Green Dragon is located in Bywater. Michel Delving seems to have The Fair Weather Inn and The Diggs (a tavern).

I know of one inn located in Minas Tirith: The Old Guesthouse on Rath Celerdain (the Street of the Lampwrights) on the first level of the city, near the Great Gate.

I did once compile a list of inns and taverns located in the Shire. A couple are non-canonical (The Rabbit Hole, in particular was made up by myself) and The All-Welcome Inn is from Tolkien's uncompleted 1960 rewrite of The Hobbit:

Inns and Taverns of the Shire

The Shire might have more eating and drinking establishments per capita than any other region of Middle-earth. Most have few, if any, rooms to accommodate Big Folk, the best bet being the Bridge Inn on the Great East Road at the Brandywine Bridge. The Shire’s best-known Inns and drinking establishments include:
- The Green Dragon, an inn on the Hobbiton side of Bywater.
- The Ivy Bush, a modest inn located on the Bywater road in Hobbiton.
- The Golden Perch, an inn in Stock, said to have the best beer in Eastfarthing.
- The Bridge Inn at the west end of the Brandywine Bridge.
- The Floating Log, a popular inn in Frogmorton.
- The All-Welcome Inn just west of Frogmorton, where the Northway meets the East Road.
- The Kings’ Way, an inn located in Waymeet.
- The Fair Weather Inn at Michel Delving.
- The Diggs, a tavern in Michel Delving.
- The Thirsty Fox, an inn at Greenholm on the western border of the Shire.
- The Hammer and Tong, an inn at Oatbarton that is run by the wife of the local blacksmith.
- The Rabbit Hole, a tavern in Greenfields.
