Marvel and DC Characters for Invincible?

Sat 01 Aug 2026, 19:07

I know a LOT of Invincible characters are proxies for pre-existing characters, but has anyone started stating up guys like Captain America or Spider-Man?

Looking at the old Marvel Superheroes RPG from TSR, I made this conversion table based on the Strength Attribute. They line up pretty well, but I had a snag with the Remarkable level. Marvel has it at 1 Ton, which corresponds to '6' in the Invincible RPG. But the next rank up is Incredible, which is 10 tons. 10 tons is '8' in Invincible. So Remarkable is either 6-7

Feeble=1
Poor=2
Feeble (50lbs) = 1 (50lbs)
Poor (100lbs) = 2 (100lbs)
Typical (200lbs) = 3 (200lbs)
Good (400lbs) = 4 (400lbs)
Excellent (800lbs) = 5 (800lbs)
Remarkable (1 ton) = 6 (1 ton) - 7 (3 tons)
Incredible (10 tons) = 8 (10 tons)
Amazing (50 tons) =9 (30 tons)
Monstrous (80 tons) =9 (30 tons) or 10 (100 tons)
Unearthly (100 tons) = 10 (100 tons)
Shift X (250 tons) = 11 (300 tons)
Shift Y (500 tons) = 11 (300 tons)
Shift Z (1000 tons) = 12 (1000 tons)

Spider-Man's stats came out to 40 points. Which is two more than the Cosmic Champion Rank!

No one asked for this, but I stated up Spider-Man as per the old TSR game. As I stated previously, this is way too many points for a legit Invincible character.

Fighting: 6
Agility: 9
Strength: 8
Reason: 5
Intuition: 4
Presence: 8

Health: 23
Resolve: 17
Slugfest Damage: 4

Powers
Power Source: Freak Accident - Bitten by a radioactive spider.
*Adhesion - Can walk on walls and ceilings
*Danger Sense - Can not be surprised

Power Source: Technology - Webshooters
*Snare (major) - Range0/1 - If hit, target is immobilized. Full Strength action (-3 dice) to break free. No stunts allowed on this action.
*Swinging - Swing up to 2 zones as a quick or full action. 1 point of Stress to move 4 zones. May pull target into your zone (full action) if strength is equal to or less than your strength.
Talents
Duck & Weave: You can dodge slugfest attacks.
Knowledgeable (Technology): +3 dice on Reason rolls (not powers).
Sharp-Tongued: +2 dice on Presence rolls for Action Banter.
Drawbacks
Gear Dependent (Webshooters)
Hard Times (Poor)

The way I look at it is this is an experienced Spider-Man, that is why it isn’t a legit invincible character. Instead, think what was spidey like the first time he swung out to fight crime. That is part of the key themes for this game they address at the beginning of the book: coming of age.

Here's my very deeply considered conversion chart. All the values match for perfectly accurate conversions.

For Barriers/ Blast / Control powers etc., match the ranks from the table bottom left, then compare with relevant other tables to get the values.

You can do exact conversions but you'll find when you play the game that Fighting sometimes needs to be increased a little to replicate combat ability properly. I'll sometimes bump up Fighting by 1 for some characters.

This is a by-the-book starting Spidey character built as per the rules. His webbing is internal and not tech.

Those are great! Fantastic work.

I've played Invincible a few times and I really like the system!
