Thanks! This is a great series. Just read part 29 today and wonder if helmets should provide armour to the head for absolutely every shot. In my view, dramatically it would have been better if NASCAR's 3 damage M1911A1 headshot had hit the enemy LEADER in the face and killed him outright, rather than hitting his helmet, especially as pistol rounds increase the the armour value of the helmet by +1. I think if I had been doing that scene I'd have required the enemy LEADER to make a saving roll to see if his helmet took the round rather than his unprotected face. Maybe 4-6 on a D6 for the helmet to take the round.
I went back and checked my notes, but found no complaints about the mechanics. I guess that being only my third fight I was sticking to the rules at every step.
Also, the group (or rather the city’s militia) got a prisoner out of it, and that’s a helpful resource for advancing the story (think intel and the like). Though it could be increasingly difficult to narratively justify non-lethal headshots, especially if there’s more than one in a single fight.
Of course, at a moment of peak tension, the Referee can always house-rule what happens and stir the narration, whether it’s for dramatic purposes or for the sake of the story.
Keep reading, the campaign continues!
