Emanation

Wed 25 Mar 2026, 17:02

Sorry, another piece of late feedback for Beta 2.
Emanation lasts 'until your next turn'. Is that the beginning of your next turn? So, your Slugfest Damage is no longer increased during your next turn, right?

Also, the damage of continuous contact is inflicted 'on each turn'. Should that be 'at the start of each round', or many 'on each of the target's turns' or 'on each of your turns'? Or whose turn? I mean, if there are 6 participants in an Action Scene, technically, there are 6 turns during each round...
Also, the 'each turn' wording slightly superflous, when the power only lasts until the end of your next turn, anyway.

By the way, the 'on each turn' wording also comes up a couple of other times in the book, e.g. Vacuum damage, Toxic Strike, Dreadful Darkness, Regeneration, Phobic disadvantage.

Flight (Glide) also uses 'per turn' in a similar way. It's pretty self-explanatory, though - here, it must mean 'on each of your turns'.

A turn happens when it begins, so any time "until your next turn" or "per/ on each turn" is used, it means when it starts. When the text refers to a turn, that means the relevant character's turn.

If any effect is intended to extend until the end of a turn, or if anything is meant to refer to every characters' turn in a round, the text would specify that.

Thanks!

Ah, so it would basically mean "the start of each of your turns". Thank you, this makes sense!
