I think the answer is clear but just to be sure since this is a modification from First edition to Evolved edition. Here is the situation:
Yesterday, in the game session, two PCs were engaged in close combat by a deacon xeno. In the players' turn, the characters moved back from close combat and shooted against the xeno.
In First edition, you had to achieve a mobility skill check, if you did, you flee your enemy; if not, your enemy executed a free attack.
In Evolved edition, this "free attack" has disappeared. The only similar option is the Special Close Combat Attack "Pass", where a PC wants to move past an enemy to end on the other side of them.
According to the situation explained before, players didn't need to "pass" the xeno, they only wanted to move back, without any skill check, and fire their weapons. I think we did it well, but just in case, I would want to ask here.
Thanks in advance.
