The armour value for a door is intended to reflect a heavy bulkhead or tough door that, no matter how many times you hit it with your stick, you’re really going to struggle to break through it. A cutting torch gives you +3 on a Heavy Machinery roll, which I’d use as your “attack” vs the door if you have the right tool. The idea behind this was to have moments where players are cornered by an advancing xeno and are desperately trying to break open a bulkhead to escape, or they have a door between them and a xeno, and the alien is trying to break it open. Wonderful ways to build tension!
