Marks for Initiative cards

Fri 15 Nov 2019, 19:04

In case that the cards are revised someday. How about (better) marks to distinguish six and nine. And to mark fast, slow and completly spend actions.

page 89
MARK YOUR ACTIONS
As reactive actions such as blocking and
overwatch fire break the initiative order,
it can be hard to keep track of how many
actions a combatant has performed in the
Round. A tip is to keep track of this by turning
the initiative card 90 degrees for every
performed action. Turn it to the left for a fast
action and to the right for a slow action, and
all the way around 180 degrees once both
actions in the turn are used up.

As an experiment: Try spontanously to say which ini has used up a reactive action (It´s possible nevertheless, even if have been laid down intentionally mean....)

You have the word INIT above the number.

I was a little bit surprised that there wasn't any text on the sides of the card like "Slow Action Used", etc.

I know, but as I wrote: They are distinguishable, but it could better. Especially when playing im dim light.

They cards are okay, it´s a suggestion. They used the mechanic in Forbidden Lands, that´s why I used it in my selfmade Initiative cards some month ago.

I put  the numbers above the text for "Both Used", "Fast Used", "Slow Used"; I put a BIG "INIT" above the number  in center, and "Neither Used" under that. Makes it pretty clear the difference between 6 and 9, plus using OCRA means they're different shapes.

I made mine 2.6" squares, which I'll print on 80# colored card, probably orange astrobright if I have any left or can find it cheap, then laminate before cutting. They'll be about 1/2 mm thick. And hard to miss. ;)

Yeah, it certainly means it's more clear.
