That sounds like a really good idea actually, unaware of the hidden Eggs.

There's hidden eggs on Fiorina 161? How, I have to know?

Marines then being sent in by WY, whilst another WY black bag team watches from a distance in hopes of studying any tactical advantages in combating the aliens themselves, whilst the science division does what its does best, making things so much worse.

Since Egg morphing is basically cannon now and has been incorporated into the book, it makes sense that the dog alien had the ability to use people and turn them into eggs. Well the creature had enough victims that it dragged away and so it's totally conceivable that it turned a couple of them into eggs, so now deep in fury 161 there are a bunch of eggs waiting for victims.

*Mild comic spoilers* As for xenomorph variants, I am kinda down for the Alien King, it did feature in one of my favorite comics and strictly speaking it is not part of the lifecycle but it was the product of genetic engineering.

It features in a good story yes, but it was a one of a kind, and ought to remain as such.
And yes Ovomorphing is canon, and it's three Eggs exactly.

Well that opens the facility up for another round of xenomorph fun at least, very cool.

Possibly something to do with a team sent in to secure Ripley's blood samples on ice?

Yeah if I think it would make for a good story I'll happily feature it at my gaming table. Not going to deny my players something cool so it can remain unique to a comic.

You do you, but it breaks my immersion because it's so ridiculous.

To each their own. It's a bio-engineered creature whose key feature is taking portions of DNA structure from it's host. That is very clearly abuse-able in the hand of scientists and there is a great story there, whether the idea of the Alien King or throwing the creature down another evolutionary line.
