Re: Question about xenomorphs origin?

I am so thankful they didn't shove the horse manure from covenant down on us.
Reread, dude. Covenant is not only canon, but the events thereof are mentioned in the text on the Engineers. It's subtle, but it's in there. (I watched Covenant on the 18th of last month on the tele... and noted events in the text due to recent familiarity..

I'm actually surprised that Planet 4 (the location of the Covenant movie) isn't listed as an example planet in the Systems section, largely because they stat out the Bloodbuster/Neomorph/Protomorphs which only show up in that movie. I'm not losing sleep over it, mind you, but as they had a 'rumor control' for basically every other movie, it seems an odd omission. And by every movie, I mean sans Alien Resurrection, since that takes place in the far future and doesn't really have much to add to the universe anyway, so that one is a reasonable/good omission.

Errr no, you should reread what I said dude. As what I said was that I was happy they didn't literally ram it onto us. Enough material on the origin of the xenomorphs is left vague enough that the gm is pretty much at liberty to go in any direction they want. They talk about the ill fated Prometheus expedition. But at no point in that book, does it say David made the xenomorph. It goes without saying they are using material from Prometheus and covenant as literally all the xenomorph variants are in the book, even including one which was alternative design that later was cut from Prometheus.

Whilst the rest of you lucky lot have your pdfs and hardbacks and I'm waiting for this glorious Rpg. I'm going through the whole series again, starting with Prometheus ending with Resurrection, whilst deep diving into as much lore as i can, my imagination is ablaze, something that doesn't often happen to me, i need this book ASAP!

I would recommend dropping Resurection and using the time to indulge in some of the extra material out there which has been used in this game. Things like the computer game Alien Isolation, or the novels e.g. The Cold Forge (and I would also highly recommend Bug Hunt). The three tie in novels (out of the Shadows, Sea of Sorrows and River of Pain) have also been turned into audio dramas on Audible and frankly are fantastic. My personal feeling is that Sea of Sorrows is a bloody painful read but the audio drama is a vast improvement.

Cant help myself, Resurrection is a guilty pleasure of mine, i just love Ripley in all her forms, (Daughter included) Except maybe the mutated versions of her that get torched in said Resurrection. Nah, them still, even those had the willpower to utter those famous last words. "Kill Me." After all they had been through.

Ooh i will have to check those out thank you.
