Animals and Wits damage

Wed 18 Aug 2021, 02:04

How does something that inflicts Wits damage interact with animals? For example, the Horrify spell does Wits damage and says it doesn't work on monsters, but the GM's guide also states that animals aren't monsters.

If something doesn't have a certain attribute, then they can't take that kind of damage. It is up to the GM to decide if an animal should be affected by such an attack/spell even though it doesn't have the attribute score, but normally no it is not affected.

It might make sense to give animals a value of 1 for both of those attributes since that's probably the level of those attributes that they have. They certainly have some intelligence and anyone who's owned a pet knows that they can manipulate their owners.
