Animal form and damage conversion back to Druid

Fri 30 Jul 2021, 17:43

A question that is bugging me before I start laying a shape-shifting Druid. How is damage converted back to Druid once they transform back?

Example:

1/ Strength 3 Druid turns into strength 6 bear and takes 1 strength damage. How much damage has the Druid taken when they turn back?
or
2/ Strength 4 Druid turns into strength 2 Fox and takes 1 strength damage. How much damage has the Druid taken when they turn back?

I was thinking that if the final strength is greater than the initial strength, they just revert back to the initial strength. If the final strength is lower than the initial strength then they just take the difference in damage.

Then
1/ 6-1=5. 5>3 so reverted strength is 3
2/ 2-1=1. 1<4 so reverted strength is 4-1=3

Does this seem reasonable? have I missed anything?

If you have taken two damage, you have two damage, regardless what form you have. If you take two damage in animal form you still have two damage when you go back to druid form. If you have more damage than the druid can have you will be broken if you go back to druid form, so better rest first.
