I'm about to play my first campaign in FBL and the hardest thing I find is to come up with a suitable Pride. The ones in the books feel very generic (understandably) and I'm having a hard time balancing my Pride from being too narrow so I never get to use it to too broad so it becomes OP. On top of that I want it to fit my character really well RP-wise.
Therefor I wanted to see if we can collect everyone's best, funnies and most successful Prides. Doesn't matter if you came up with it or if another player had it, just add as many as you think is relevant to give each other inspiration and ideas for future Prides.

Beats me because after probably 20 sessions of Forbidden Lands, neither Pride or Dark Secret has been invoked once.

We have played 100 sessions in total and been through a lot of different prides.

Some have been very vague (ex. somehow I always find the right path) and som have been more specific (ex. I can disarm anyoine). Some are more passive-defensive oriented (ex I avoid all danger), other aggressive (ex. When I talk everybody listens).

I personally like the specific prides that are applicable during verbal or pshysical conflict. Using the pride as a last resort when everything else fails, almost always bring tension or a laugh.

How about kin related Pride too, rather than profession related ones?

I'm sure there could be some good roleplay related Pride for goblins or orks for example.

I'd say: don't be afraid to make your pride really easily invoked.

There are already limitations on how often you can use it, and there are consequences for using it and failing. It's fine if you make it easy for yourself to use it. In fact, I think the problem with pride is that most people make it too limiting for themselves.

Also, they often make it to closly tied to their character. A pride is something you should loose every once in a while, and come up with a new one. It's supposed to get replaced. And there for, it should be easy to use for you.

So make your pride "im really good at swordfighting". That's fine. The more often you use it, the quicker you will fail and loose it. So make sure your whole charachter doesn't stand and fall with that belief.

And if you want inspiration for future prides, just think back on the past game session. What "lesson" might your character have learned during that session? Base your new pride on that.
