Dice 66 mishap magic

Tue 11 Feb 2020, 23:00

66 Your magic rips open a rift to another dimension, and a demon pulls you
over to the other side. Time to make a new character. Your old character
will come back as an NPC after D66 days but will be … changed.

But....a wizard with bind demon could bind in on the other side and cast portal to get back....potentially ?

IF want a autokill mishap better say explodes in a thin red mist ...

Casting those spells takes time. Presumably when you teleport into whatever hell dimension is populated by demons you dont have time.

Or, by nature of being in another dimension, magic just doesn't work as you expect.

Yeah I think your magic just wouldn’t work due to it being a different reality you’re trying to alter. Or have utterly different (and unpredictable) effects.

Actually what's so wrong with having one mishap that one particular build can recover from? That doesn't seem like it ought to be a big deal.

It's the you are dead mishap. It's like saying.. why not with a certain set of perks have a character be able to survive decapitation?

And what does Lucky do in your mind? (and does it even better than above combo)

I would also just allow avoiding death here. Maybe with some fun side effect.

Lucky doesn't allow you to negate the decapitation result. It allows you to reroll and otherwise change which result you suffer. You still suffer the result you land on. The suggestion here isn't that there is a series of Talents that allow you to reroll and eventually change which result you get on the magic mishaps. It's instead that if you get that result you just ignore it all together and suffer nothing.
