Re: Converting 5E to Forbidden Land

Interestingly I’ve just stumbled on a sprite in the Raven’s Purge book with an ability that says they can only be harmed by magical weapons, so I might have to review my opinion of this option for creatures.

What I have ended up doing is reducing the HP to Fbl Strength modifier by.25 if they take half damage from non-magic weapons (how I convert resistance to non-magical weapons) or by .5 if they are immune to non-magic weapons, and an additional -.25 if they have resistance against spells.

So a creature with 18D20+18 hit points, with immunity to non-magical weapons and spell resistance goes from a having a fbl strength of  37 (18*2+1) to fbl strength of 24, making them easier to kill with magical weapons but reducing spell power levels by D6.

If they only had resistance to non-magical weapons (which I translate to half damage from non-magical weapons) and spell resistance, they would have a Fbl Strength of 28.

They would still be a tough opponent but a bit more manageable.
