I have updated how you calculate the Base Dice for attacks.

For humanoids, subtract 5E Strength modifier from Melee attack bonus, this becomes Fbl Melee Skill. Subtract 5E Dexterity Modifier from Ranged attack bonus, this becomes Fbl Marksmanship Skill.

For monsters subtract 5E Strength modifier from attack modifier, convert 5E Strength Score to Fbl equivalent, and add to remainder.

I suggested something similar on Andy's "My monster file" post. This would be great to see! I will be doing lots of OSR conversions myself so hope to help populate a big joint file

I think that converting 5e monsters to FBL can work - but only up to a certain CR. The power scale of high-level D&D is super-heroic, and FBL cannot model PCs of that scale. I think the upper limit of FBL is around CR 13. That means creatures of the ball park: Roc, Vampire, Storm Giant, Beholder.

Monsters above that scale will result in FBL stats that are not fun. They just become a bag of Strength points to deplete and crazy overpowered attacks. Creatures like: Pit Fiends, Kraken, Ancient Red Dragon, Lich, 

Yes I believe OSR monsters are a better fit

Hmm yeh I think there is some work to do on it there, maybe let lupex set it up if interested?
