Spiraller, thanks for pointing out the delta! I hope there are not more...

Edit: It seems a lot of other text has changed in the description of the events.

Guys... they also added stuff in the Legends & Adventurers booklet.
Ha, so everyone gets a weapon of some sort. I bet they decided that after Nils participated in our Grindbone Tournament last year, where we forced every PC into the arena with just the equipment they got in Legends and Adventurers.

So with the new rules for gm’s and spell casting, am I right that no npc can have a spell powered up above 3 power level, even Zygopher?

NPC can cast spells up to their magic tradition rank. Tomas has said, that NPC can have more than rank 3 in a magic traditions, for the purpose of this rule.
edit: So if an NPC has Blood Magic rank 4 they can cast Blood Magic spells to PL 4 each round.

Spoilers for Raven's Purge further down...

Raven's Purge hasn't been updated to reflect this. So unless FL plan to update Raven's Purge with additional magic ranks for key players, we have to do that ourselves. Not that hard to do. One or two extra ranks is probably enough. When it comes to Zygopher, he is a monster and some of his monster attacks are spells and they have higher ranks than allowed. So he is very powerful and probably don't need an update (he can cast immolate to d6+2 PL each round if you as a GM chooses that attack).

Thanks for reminding me about the special attack.

It would be great if Fria Ligan could give some guidance on how the spellcasters should now look based on the new rule.

I think part of my conference about the new magic rule is that previously someone with rank 2 in a discipline could have boosted a spell to power level 5 or more, depending on the WP available, but now they are stuck to only ever casting their spells at power level 2, which does limit their effectiveness.

On the other hand, an NPC with Rank 2 can cast spells up to Power Level 2 (3-4 if they are Half-Elves and/or using Ingredients) every round, regardless of the number of WP the players happened to have at the beginning of the session.

In the Player's Handbook 2nd printing (on Kickstarter now along with the new campaign book, Bitter Reach). If you have a PDF of that (from DriveThruRPG most likely) then that should be updated by now). Tomas said on KS that they might make an errata PDF for everyone that doesn't have PDF of the books (and thus haven't got the updated book), so hopefully that will happen.
