How about the character sheet?  Any chance we can get that a little early, so those of us wanting to playtest can create characters in advance?

A character sheet at least would be great.

I made my own character sheets for MYZ:

I may try adapting them for Forbidden Lands, using the Swedish one and the Alpha rules for reference... Stay tuned!

Indeed, regardless of whether the entire Alpha is ready or not, could we please get the next chapters as they are translated?  This will allow us to continue learning the system at a nice pace, and keep the excitement bubbling away, plus we can all give feedback on typos.

Alpha question for the Swedish community...  How does Magic work?  I'm assuming that Magic Talents will require Willpower Points to be used (along with Kin and Profession Talents)...  Is this correct, or are they handled differently?

Wizards and Druids can get profession talents which gives you the ability to cast different schools of magic (there also some spells that all schools can use). They are tired to level 1,2 and 3. You always succeed with your spell, but you can get negative effects.

If you have level 1 in Blood magic you can cast all level 1blood magic spells, and with a higher risk level 2 spells. If you have level 2 you can cast level 1 and 2 spells and with the same risk level 3 spells. You also cast level 1 spells with a lower risk.

With level 3 you can cast all spells of the school, and also cast level 2 and level 1 one spells with lower risk.

Every spell demands 1 willpower point to cast, and with more willpower points you get added bonuses (different depending on the spell). The more willpower points you use, the bigger chance of even better results, but also the risk that something goes wrong. You roll a D6 for each willpower point, a 6 gives extra effects, a 1 leads to negative results (damage, that the spell effect you and your enemy etc.). If you cast spells that are of lower rank than your skill you can ignore one or two of the 1:s you roll.

Hm, don‘t know if I like the magic system so much. Have I understood it correctly that you can cast spells only with Willpower Points? As I have read it in the chapters that we already have you only get a Willpower Point for every 1 you rolled when you push a roll. That means a caster have to push himself more often than other characters to get Willpower Points because he needs them. Withou these points he can’t cast a spell.
Have I understood it correctly? Or are there other possibilities to collect the points? If there is perhaps one spell that you can cast without WP that would make me happy. I really dislike system where the spellslinger can’t cast a spell and have to use a weapon. There a many systems - even 5th Ed. - in which the caster can use one or three spells every time without a cost. Even if this is not planned for FL I would be glad if there could be an official optional rule to play it so as I think that FL knows how to make such a rule as the have the most experience with the rules ;)
