I need some sort of "like" thingy to press on your posts Brior
Same goes for me. Futility ensues!

FYI I just sent six persons a test of a cipher you'll encounter in one of the adventure sites. Like Goldilocks I want to find out if it's too hard, too easy or just right. This cipher is actually more about decoding how to use a holy language of pictograms and then use it to solve a mystery. If things turn out as I plan, players with a druid character will then be able to use this language for their magic and create their own signs.

FYI I now have received a handful of answers to the Maha cipher test. It seems to be pretty tricky albeit solvable. This is fine with me, since there will be in-game help to get at a cost (not necessarily paid in gold) and also the adventure isn't over even should the adventurers fail to crack the code. In that case some NPCs will probably beat them to it, resulting in all kinds of complications and challenges, since the cipher is the key to an unstable political issue.

Some of you have been very enthusiastic and the suggestion came up to form a committee once the game is available to make a short online Maha vocabulary and grammar. I second that!

Sounds interesting and seems to make the play in this world much more immersive. All in all this is one of my most wanted RPGs. AWESOME stuff! :)

I like the concept and agree that it will make the setting very immersive, however there also needs to be a mechanism for a character to be able to solve and use the cipher even if the players can't work it out. Otherwise it will just create frustrations for both players and GM. From my perspective I would want to see clear examples of how the cipher works with magic etc as I don't want to spend a lot of prep time creating these puzzle pieces.

I don't think you need to worry, Lupex. The thing is that the Maha language is just a cipher once, as a puzzle in a specific location. Once you grasp it, it's pretty straight forward, and then it's more a question of using it creatively. At that time, the GM might let the players read the appropriate section in the rules. It could be a good idea to let the druids use magic in a standard way and leave this language as an option for those who like the concept and challenge. It's kind of hard to discuss it before it's around.

Okay, been busy snowed under an avalanche of rpg books to read, house rules to fix and other things to be able to really post,

You know how I use music, so based on current information on this game I think I may have found a fitting track called:

You know my taste, Harper ;)
I own the German special Finsterbann edition.
But there are more books in English abd I have to wait for the German translation. I have to confess that I‘m a nerd in this respect: I collect in the language of the first book in my Collection ;)
