Fantasy Miniatures

Thu 12 Oct 2017, 12:35

Does anyone have good suggestions for fantasy miniatures to use for the game? (need to start collecting and painting for next summer)
I know of warhammer, but don't feel they capture the feeling, they are a bit "extreme", I'm looking for more toned down, i.e. more Lord of the rings orcs etc.

And on the other end of the spectrum, the really classic stuff, but you have to cast and paint ;)

Reaper makes a wide variety of miniatures that would probably work really well with the Forbidden Lands. I believe they all come unpainted though, so make sure you have your paints and brushes handy.

Just to whet your appetite, there are also Pyrotaurs in the setting: fire breathing minotaurs along with the classical ones.

Are they related to a certain species of firebreathing Babbarians of the mammothian persuasion? :D

Can they set light to their double-axes with their fiery breath? (as Minotaurs, I assume they have double-axes ;) )

Maybe I should sculpt the characters from the cover while I'm waiting to get started!

I'd love to hear more about what's going on with that scene on the box. I know the reptilian mount has a name. Is there anything you can tell us about the encounter?

I can disclose that it's connected to Stretchgoal 21. The rider's mask is not protection but replacement. Nuff said.

You have to ask them, preferably from a distance.
