Actually, there are some good words in English for this. Here are my favourites (in no particular order), with definitions from the Oxford English Dictionary.

1. Sagacity - The quality of being sagacious. (Sagacious - Having or showing keen mental discernment and good judgement; wise or shrewd.)

2. Insight - The capacity to gain an accurate and deep understanding of someone or something.

3. Intuition - The ability to understand something instinctively, without the need for conscious reasoning.

4. Shrewdness - The quality of having or showing good powers of judgement.

Sagacity stands out as being a bit too literary, it's not really used in common speech as much as the others. For my money, I like Insight best.
I agree that Insight makes sense. It's broader than Genomskåda/Sense Emotion (as are all the options above), but I'm not sure that's a problem.

Personally I'm not sure Charisma is as good a fit here as it is in some of Ligan's other games. In a retro game about adventuring and exploring, 'Will' seems like a better fit
I'm a bit confused. Is Charisma an attribute in English MY0? Because in the Swedish version, the attributes go like this:

Styrka (Strength)
Kyla (Cool)
Skärpa (Acuity)
Känsla (Sense/Emotion)

You're right off course - not sure where I got that from. The EN translation of Känsla is Empathy in both Mutant and Coriolios.

I had a thought the other day about this thing with people needing more than twelve skills. Since Fria Ligan has a history of using talents as a way of morphing skills in different ways, why not keep that going and keep the skillcount low?

For example Command: in it's normal form it's just about ordering your teammates around to give them extra die if they follow your instructions. Then you choose the talent Leadership and it allows you to command armies or the talent Animal Handler wich lets you tame wild animals. You don't lose the old way of using the skill though, you just modify your character to fit your playstyle.
In the past Fria Ligan-games there has also been the talents that exchange the base attribute for certain skills. How about using that for expanding the skill list instead of adding more skills? So you want to make someone obey you. Do you intimidate them? Strength + Persuasion. Convince them that you're in the right? Wits + Persuasion. Charm them? Sense/Charisma + Persuasion. I see this being used for Crafts as well (Smithing (Strength), Healing (Wits), Leatherworking/Tailoring (Dexterity)). And so on and so forth. What do you think?
Also Melee Specializations (Close Combat), Modes of Transportation (Move) and a plethora of the other skills.

Awareness is to spot something physical, e.g. someone sneaking up to you, blood on the floor, a secret door. Insight is to gauge if someone is lying to you, hiding something from you, to get a feeling from a scene.
You could use the term Wisdom instead of insight
No, Wisdom is not a skill it’s an attribute ;)
To be earnest: Insight has not such a broad meaning as Wisdom. And all the systems have used Wisdom as an attribute and I think that is a correct way of handling it.
But so is Endurance or Dexterity etc,
Insight is part of Wisdom, but Wisdom has a broader meaning, giving it more coverage and utility,
You can say no because it's an attribute in another game (TM)

Agreed, Wisdom doesn't sound right to me either as a Skill.
But Endurance does? Lol

And how many talents does a character have? 16 skills is a good amount to cover the greatest base of skills. Why would a character choose a talent when he can take a skill? Talents are more special and a character has only a limited amount of them. I‘m not a friend of a long list of skills but 16 isn’t much.
But I agree with you to use Talents to specialise skills that a character posses. Good example you made for Craft. And I think that you can take combat styles with talents. But talents are precious and so I like the idea of 16 skills and then a development through talents.

We were discussing Insight being under Charisma, how does using Wisdom address that issue?
Wisdom under Charisma feels even more out of place than Insight under Charisma.
Because Insight has nothing to do with Charisma, it's related to Wisdom, ask yourself what does Wisdom give you?
Btw, why do I need to explain everything to you?, it looks like you are just trying to criticise me personally,

The MY0 original is even more narrow - Genomskåda (to "see through" as in "I can see through your empty lies") in Swedish or Sense Emotion in English.

Dude? What? after criticising me on Wisdom, you put up "Sagacity"? (Even under the description it says "Wise")
