End of session XP

Mon 10 Jun 2019, 09:40

I've been having trouble pushing rolls against my players (I know, I'm weak). So as a reasonable GM, I decided to solve my problem with XP. I added a new question to the list on PHB pg 39: "Did the GM push a die roll against you?" (So as long as I push a die roll against a player at least once, they get one bonus XP at the end of the session). Now my little XP addicts are begging me  to push a roll against them. My guilt is relieved, the players have a smidgen more XP, and we're all happy. I was wondering if anyone else has introduced new XP questions? Why? And how well have they worked?

I found out that the flow of XP using the standard questions is quite good. They have enough motivation to explore and fight monsters. The only one that is least answered is the dark secret, where I actually have issues with. Pushing rolls - not that much.
