I am having a bit of fun matching the map comments on the Big Smoke map with the real world locations, i have found stamford bridge football arena and the tower of london etc but i was wondering if anyone has already done this excessive for this map?  I am having trouble locating "the thorn dome" and "Spotty Waste", does anyone know what or where these would correspond to in current times?

Just did the same thing today.
The "Spotty Waste" is The Chase Nature Reserve - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.55771 ... 682,13.92z
I can't relate  "The Thorn Dome" to any real landmarks but it's near Fairlop Waters County Park.

Our group live in Romford and we have located our  Ark in the ruins of the Liberty Two shopping centre so I know The Spotty Waste very well often cycling over there on a pleasant weekend afternoon.

I haven't seen any abandoned war wagons in Epping Forest yet but I guess that isn't going to arrive for a couple of centuries.

So I think the Thorn Dome is north of Fairlop Waters and the abandoned War Wagon is in Hainault Country Park:probably in the car park outside the cafeteria.

Thanks for that, I’m going to make a list to compare the new place markers with the actual landmarks so that my descriptions are as on point as possible.

That is helpful, thanks.

As you can guess I never did start my campaign, so this kinda got left behind. As I’m in lockdown like everyone else I thought I would start prepping for my next one-shot, and it’s a toss up between the MYZ starter set or Alien:Chariot of the Gods, I am favouring MYZ.

As I am UK based I am planning on using the Big Smoke map and going through the list of new placeholders and noting which real life locations these correspond to, probably in a google doc that others can add to. Would this be useful to anyone?

Yes that would be awesome. Getting ready to GM for the first time ever and using the London setting.

Does anyone know what “the arena” is?

I think the arena is the Royal Albert Hall
