Why was 3 year term removed from "At War"?

Sun 06 Jun 2021, 11:44

In character generation now, the "At War" term does not increase the character's age whereas it used to increase it by 3 years. The timeline clearly shows war breaking out in 1997, going nuclear in 1998, dragging on into 1999 with a very cold winter, and culminating in "OPERATION RESET" in 2000, so just wondering why characters no longer age once war breaks out.

Hi!

The automatic adding of three years during the At War term was removed for two reasons:
  • Even though the war broke out in '97, some characters might not have been immediately drawn into it. So it made sense to leave this more open.
  • We simply wanted to make it possible to have characters be a little younger.
