Barzan journey

Fri 05 Nov 2021, 10:15

I pledged only for the PDF version of TOR 2e, not for the paper books. Why ? Because as french playing in french, I will buy the french version of paper books when they are translated. I got the PDFs and I have read them, all is fine.
Therefore I shouldn't be interested in the paper books delivery. But still every day, I look at the Barzan container ship that carries the books from China to Europe. Every day, I follow its travel and grumble when it's not moving at all. Until yesterday it was stopped near Yantian district in China. Right now it is moving towards Singapore and i'm excited. I'm definitively a desperate case ! lol. I hope they won't get a failed Travel roll and meet an ill-event on the way, I wish that you all "paper books" pledgers quickly get your books in your hands, in your bookcase, for your deep pleasure :-)

given the past year, I generally hope ships know to pass Suez bow ahead and not sliding sideways through. ;)

Slowly but surely the boat is moving. Now it's at Singapore. Still a long way to go.

Checking that boat's position is like an annoying tune that I cannot get out of my head.

Every time I keep on telling myself I will NOT check it again tomorrow.
And you can guess what happens.

I suspect that if I inform my wife of its location one more time, I will be in Strider Mode sooner than the rules will appear....

I'm in Japan, so it's really bothering me that it's gone all the way from here, to there, then back here again, then finally towards there, then eventually it'll come back here again.

I wish they did Asian fulfilment from the US. Not just because of this bad luck, but I think it's just closer and more eco-friendly.

I think it is very considerate of those people who are NOT waiting for the Barzan to arrive, that they are not mentioning here that anchors are being put down in other parts of the world.. (In one case the anchors are reported as up again, implying the goods will have been unloaded onto dry - USA - land.)

Still looking at maps with yellow arrows on them... But I watched each of the six Peter Jackson films (one per day) to help pass the last week instead (extended versions rather than theatrical).

I have never been bothered with the idea of the sailing speeds of boats before.
