Can distinctive features be used with combat skills/valour...

And wisdom rolls?

I'm of the mind you can't as it states "skills" but what do you folks think?

You can only use distinctive features to become inspired on Skills, correct!

However, various Virtues can be used to make an Attack roll inspired, or do the same for a Valour/Wisdom/Protection roll. The Language of Birds, Elbereth Gilthoniel!, Dark for Dark Business and so on can do the job here.

And even if you can't use a distinctive feature on an attack roll (i.e., a Combat Proficiency), you can (I think) use it on a skill roll made during a Combat, e.g., to Rally Comrades.

That's how I read things too, great point! :)

Could help out a Keen-eyed Elven archer looking to put a lot of dice in to "Prepare Shot" as a secondary action, then put another hope in to the attack itself and pick up a huge handful of dice. Even with penalties for long range etc you'll be able to emulate some of the feats from the books.

A Lordly or Proud ranger might use this to boost a key Enhearten skill roll.

Or a Fierce Dwarf Intimidating his foes with the Awe skill.

I have ruled in our last combat session that a fitting Distinctive Feature may turn the Battle roll for an advantage into a secondary action.
